I like the look of this forum. It's very cool. Gamedev.com, that site looks like a very interesting place I'll have to explore at a later time. Thanks for sharing, Luxleiv. I'm very into games (video games and board games) and am a musician--SilverFox Jams being the artist name I've chosen for myself over ten years ago--as well as an artist and a writer. I'm becoming more and more of a pro now, though I am still not sure if I want to make money doing any of those things. My day job is running this used bookstore business. It's not so bad. Besides, I get some free time to work on my music over there! I have my own special and cool website, including a Proboards community of my own I linked it to, so check all that out whenever you like! The link to my webpage can be found in my profile. Wix.com is great for a free website builder, by the way. I love their abstract background images and user friendly editors.

10 years? Nice. That's a lot of practice. I'd love to hear some of your songs. I'll check your forum later today. Great to have you here.

I'm glad to join and offer my insight to help you grow as an artist, and share my experiences. I believe you've got potential. Your game compositions-wise are pretty good! Your original stuff isn't really bad, though you've still got a ways to go. How long have you been at the music making? Yeah, a little over than a decade, wow. I started in the summer of 2001. When I started sharing my music online, I already had up to 8 tracks finished. It used to take up to 2 days making tracks, but now it usually takes me weeks to even a month. I've really learned to have a better ear for some things, and my music making has become a little more complex as I'm always into different genres; fusion jazz, funk, house, rock, industrial, dubstep... Dubstep and trap are what I'm still relatively new to (my first two sound really good, but the remix of my first could sure as hell use some improvements), and I'm excited about doing something cinematic one day. I know of this one amazing composer online I'm sort of buddies with, and I'll gladly share his knowledge with you whenever he offers me any good tips to keep in mind when it comes to movie score. Step (http://step.newgrounds.com/) is amazing!! He's inspired me quite a bit. He's sort of the inspiration behind my debut game mix, and one of my recent original tracks.

Thanks a lot I appreciate any help I can find. How long have you been at the music making? Almost a year. I've started in December I think. ... I'll check and share what I think about your music later. Probably tomorrow. I'd give a lot to have any good musician around me unfortunately I don't. Step (http://step.newgrounds.com/) is amazing!! He's inspired me quite a bit. He's sort of the inspiration behind my debut game mix, and one of my recent original tracks. I'm inspired mainly by game composers like Frank Klepacki (Red Alert, C&C etc) Paul Anthony Romeo (Heroes of Might and Magic series) and Michiru Yamane (Castlevania series) I also love Fantomenk (sample of his work): The Massacre (Version 2)

No problem. I suggest uploading your tracks on Newgrounds, once you get a little better, or at least when feel you're sure you've gotten better. You'll get even more feedback like the kind I've given you. (And some of the composers on that site, wow... Not just Step, but also my friend abrasounds, another buddy known as Pandasticality, SoundChris, Druox the Shredder, etc.) There's a lot amazing talent on SoundCloud too! Also to mention, some on YouTube. Maybe I'll explore some on bandcamp later. No rush on checking out my stuff! Whenever you get the time to is all right by me. My oldest of stuff is on my SoundCloud page, which can be found on my NG page. (That's another good tip of getting heard, upload your music on different sites, at least 3. Something to keep in mind in the near future.) Yeah, I could tell you haven't been into it for very long! I was guessing a month, but I wasn't too sure, heh heh. I was way off. It takes time, but at least you'll have fun experimenting and learning as you go. The creation process should be fun. And this track you linked me to is badass. Very nice!

I already upload my stuff to Newsgrounds, Soundcloud and OCRemix as well (really good site with video game covers). I don't have anything to lose so I can as well share and upload my work wherever I can.
Making music is more fun than creating art for me (I've got B.A in Arts) so I hope that in future I will be able to get some kind of profit from making music. But we will see how everything wil turn out.

Oh, you do? Do you go by the same name on both?
I'm trying to get on OC Remix but I don't think I've got notification email that I've been accepted. I don't think my MK remix will be acceptable, no matter how original and epic it is. I've read something DJ Pretzel that the old short one, Komplete Kontrol by Beatdrop, was removed. I'll be sure to share my Darius Twin and other game remixes I intend to do more in the future.
I like both art and music, a lot. I also write from time to time and writing ties with music on what I feel the most passionate towards.

Oh, you do? Do you go by the same name on both? Yup, review process is really long on OCRemix though. More than month. Well I didn't recieve reject mail yet so we will see if they will accept my covers.
